Jon started on radio at the BBC in Oxford aged just 16. He became a Radio 4 reporter for the BBC's first foray into IT called "The Chip Shop" in 1984. By the time he was 25 he was anchoring the Breakfast show "Morning Edition" for BBC Radio 5, 6 mornings a week for 2 years. Little wonder he describes it as:  "the most fun you can have with your clothes on"

He's read the news for BBC Radio's 1, 2, 4 (which also meant he joined the hallowed ranks of those few people who have read live shipping forecasts on air) and Radio 5 and 5Live.

He anchored news, sport, political and entertainment programmes for London's only speech network - LBC  for 7 years and was on air on 9/11 as you can hear below:

Jon's background as reporter means that most of his work is in Speech Radio - but he's been known to spin a tune or two as well. From BBC Radio 2's Nightride to Late Night Radio across London.

Jon is extremely professional and very open to new ideas. A great voice and good presence both on TV and Radio and a brilliant stable of talent. Jon worked with me on a TV Show pilot as a panel Judge. His talent and humour on screen was just what we needed. Very spontaneous and entertaining, but also offering very serious and beneficial coaching to the show candidates
